Pressure RELEASED!

Pressure Released
1 June, 2021 (18 Jestha, 2078)

After months long preparation for the final examination of Grade 10 - the Secondary Education Examination, I heard that the examination would undergo internal evaluation from the school committee and that would determine the final results of this Board Examination. I think I should have been sad for it. But, I wasn't. Instead, I was very happy because - The Pressure was finally RELEASED!

I woke up at around 7:30 in the morning. The sky was clear and it was a sunny morning, like every other summer day in my town. I was so stressed with all the preparations for the SEE which had no signs of happening this year. I was 99% sure that the examination would not be held but that little 1% haunted me every day for so long. But, no longer.

Today, the Council of Ministers, GoN have finally taken a decision not to conduct this year's SEE and that students' results to be prepared by the respective schools. I got happy. I shared this message to most of my friends.

Then, the day continued. At around 8, the sky got covered with clouds and rainfall took place. It was not a normal rain. It rained heavily for half an hour continuously. The rain continued.

There is a culture in Nepal - If there is a heavy rain, the electricity must be cut off. Due to this, I remained completely unproductive till 10.

Then, I sat down to write a blog post for Gaming Up-To-Date - a blog that I run. But, being out of clue, I couldn't think of what should I do.

Have we grown up?

I was gifted a domain name by my mom. She said she would pay the bills until I got mature. I was super happy. But then, I thought, am I wasting the money?

But, then I remembered my childhood days.

Already having a geometry box, we wanted to have a new one. The metallic boxes won't satisfy us, we wanted the Ben-10 boxes.

And I compared that memory to today. That's exactly what I did!

This also released my pressure of not having a proper domain name.

Closing for today, I thank to the Government of Nepal for making the timely decision and my mother for helping me to continue the blog.

SAT: Self-Preparation or Institute?

The Scholarship Aptitude Test (SAT), organized by the College Board, is a foundational stone in college application for Undergraduate Studies, especially in the United States. For many, the SAT could be a differentiating factor between a successful admission cycle and an unsuccessful one. Moreover, several universities offer scholarships to incoming undergraduate freshman based on their SAT scores. How does an SAT look like? An SAT test, now digital, comprises   questions from English and Mathematics. In a nutshell, it is divided into two sections: English Based Reading and Writing (abbreviated as EBRW) and Mathematics. Each section is worth 800 points, making the test worth 1600 points. How to prepare for the SAT? Let us delve into this question section-wise. English Based Reading and Writing (EBRW) For international students who are not native English speakers, this section could be challenging. In everyday communication, these students often believe in "go with the option that ...

An Incubate-eeeeeee

Getting accepted into Incubate Nepal Before I begin, let me ask you, “Did you know that I was accepted to the cohort of Incubate Nepal 2023?”. Most of you would say, “No!”; leaving a few who had messaged me to learn about my application status. Everyone knows this still, I am emphasizing it, “The public does not know your achievements unless you share them.” What conclusion can you draw from this? Well, if you want to keep something private, just don’t share it on social media. That’s all! Moral lessons apart, how would you react if your application was reviewed by a Harvard alumnus and received a mail stating that you have been shortlisted for the interview process? Awesome? Would you jump out of excitement? It’s totally normal to get overwhelmed in these situations, isn’t it? So, I consider myself abnormal. I didn’t react much to hearing the decision. Perhaps, it could be because the decision was sent in the morning and not at midnight. Had it ...
