Youths: Treasury of Innovation

"Youths are a treasury full of ideas and innovation. A wise mentor who can identify these hidden in the youths influences them to catalyze positive global change."

One factor that influences the development of a society or a nation is youth - a group of people aged 16-40 (Constitution of Nepal 2072). Being different from other age groups, they are open to learning, unlearning, and improving every day.

They are a treasury of knowledge and inventions that need to be explored. It is at a young age that people are inquisitive about every happening and ponder viable solutions to the problems they face. They are optimistic about every situation. Their perseverance rewards them as they don’t stop until the problem is solved. Their positive attitude, ideas, and innovation can catalyze positive change.

It is not as easy as it sounds. Amidst several ideas that strike their minds, identifying an idea that solves the most pressing problem of the nation or the globe requires mentorship. A wise mentor can guide the next Anuradha Koirala, Binod Chaudhary, and Paras Khadka to name a few.

However, many youths go unnoticed for their voices are suppressed by political turmoil and unhealthy competition. When favoritism prevails, youths lack opportunities to gain exposure and grow. If youths require connections with higher authority (political connections) to implement their thoughts into actions, their ideas diminish; they become demotivated. All their plans and actions are subdued by the prevalence of nepotism.

The increasing trend of traveling to foreign countries to gain higher education signifies the failure of the national government to provide ample opportunities. Furthermore, when youths stay back in foreign countries, the problem of brain drain arises which pushes the country of origin backward in terms of development.

Nonetheless, when youths are cherished for their accomplishments, they accelerate their work. The nation must realize that the future of the country is in the hands of these youths. As long as they don’t succeed in generating a deep love for the country in youths, it is likely that youths will not participate in nation-building which poses a great threat to the sovereignty of the country.

SAT: Self-Preparation or Institute?

The Scholarship Aptitude Test (SAT), organized by the College Board, is a foundational stone in college application for Undergraduate Studies, especially in the United States. For many, the SAT could be a differentiating factor between a successful admission cycle and an unsuccessful one. Moreover, several universities offer scholarships to incoming undergraduate freshman based on their SAT scores. How does an SAT look like? An SAT test, now digital, comprises   questions from English and Mathematics. In a nutshell, it is divided into two sections: English Based Reading and Writing (abbreviated as EBRW) and Mathematics. Each section is worth 800 points, making the test worth 1600 points. How to prepare for the SAT? Let us delve into this question section-wise. English Based Reading and Writing (EBRW) For international students who are not native English speakers, this section could be challenging. In everyday communication, these students often believe in "go with the option that ...

An Incubate-eeeeeee

Getting accepted into Incubate Nepal Before I begin, let me ask you, “Did you know that I was accepted to the cohort of Incubate Nepal 2023?”. Most of you would say, “No!”; leaving a few who had messaged me to learn about my application status. Everyone knows this still, I am emphasizing it, “The public does not know your achievements unless you share them.” What conclusion can you draw from this? Well, if you want to keep something private, just don’t share it on social media. That’s all! Moral lessons apart, how would you react if your application was reviewed by a Harvard alumnus and received a mail stating that you have been shortlisted for the interview process? Awesome? Would you jump out of excitement? It’s totally normal to get overwhelmed in these situations, isn’t it? So, I consider myself abnormal. I didn’t react much to hearing the decision. Perhaps, it could be because the decision was sent in the morning and not at midnight. Had it ...
